The govener you can get past on teh stock ECU by cutting your speed signal wire running to the ECU and by unplugging your 4th and 5th gear RPM sender plugs.
I have now gotten around the governer because I have a tuned ECU from http://www.rs-enthalpy.com

ey so im kinda a noob at umm boost and stuff, so can u only go really fast after about 40 mph? can u not go very fast from 0-40 cuz of turbo lag or somethin (ya like i said im a noob so ya sorry) or are u just not pushing it until past 40?

First, he has 205s on the back so no traction, and second, boost comes on at a certain RPM, not a certain speed.

Because it is pointless to have it one the street I asume, or maybe because it brakes traction easily.
Anyways your car is crazy fast, that speedo moves faster than my tach in 2nd gear... damn I need a better car. Hondas are pathetic.
And you need some wider wheels and better tires, like said before, traction owns you. If you had it + a cheap vlsd, you will get much better 1/4 times.

It would depend on how far you wanna go...
If you never want to upgrade to larger injectors/tuned ECU(go past 260-270whp), then you would do just fine on a T25 setup. Even so, you can always go to a T28 or other T2 footprint turbo as plenty of SR guys have definatly shown how powerful the newer GT2x series turbos are.

The GT series turbos are expensive.... But shit, my turbo ran me close to $900 by the end. I went with a 360* thrust bearing and HPC coated turbine housing tho. I sometimes think that maybe I should have been more patient and went with a GT series turbo, but fuck it, I make good power as is.
Its kinda useless in some places. I've spun third just laying into it at 55mph on a cold night. I've just learned how/when/where I can use the power to my advantage.
And I thought the LS2 was putting down 350whp+? At least in the GTOs it is IIRC. Along with a torque curve that looks like the horizon... I've tried to get my boss to race me(LS2 GTO), but no dice... I'd clean him the fuck up tho. I've ridden in it and it feels too tame IMO. Power to weight owns.

I might use that turbo or I might just go with a modified t-25 and pussy out so I can set it up cheaper and easier. I am planning on running a KA-T now
S-afc, sr injectors, walbro fuel pump, spearco intercooler blah blah blah is what I plan to run.. I'm also going to buy some mandrel bent u pipes and custom do all the intercooler plumbing
I was planning to run just a basic cheap setup like that with SR 370's, and an SAFCII, but, ive decided to just be patient and save for 550's and an enthalpy ECU.

No matter what, WHP factors in drivetrain loss... so 320whp+3300lbs-ish ish<350-370whp+2800lbs.
The GTOs trap 106 stock... I could have taken them at 11psi on my old revhard/t04B setup.

oh yea, and you can sell them your stock injectors for $45 from a KA or $90 for an SR. You have to ship them with that money tho. Still a pretty good lil deal I think. My injectors actually turned out to be 700cc+ due to a flow testing problem with the old machine.
You can usually pick up some 50lb MSD injectors for about the same price+ a top feed fuel rail for a max of $200 and be good to go as well.. Nismo, PE, Sard are all a ripoff if you ask me. $500+ for injectors...I can get a 10 pack of sluts for cheaper than that without the mail in rebate.

lol, thats what the Enthalpy tune is for! Then you really can't go too big.
I thought at first that I should prolly just do 550ccs on my tune, but damn am I glad I went with the larger injectors. I would prolly be close to maxxing the 550s now. I mean, damn, I'm doing 64.9% airflow/1.23kg/cm2 sometimes when I feel like a boost slut. I'm already thinking about race gas and 400whp... Either way, take whatever you think you will need, multiply it by 2, and that is what you need! lol

Yeah, for 10 bucks more, ill just go with them. And yeah, enthalpy is for sure the way im going. I want to do it right the first time, and have a reliable setup. I just dont feel i will get that with any piggyback like an SAFC. I just gotta keep being patient and saving more.

im also reading a book on engine tuning and stand alones so by the time I absorb that information and am ready to really put some money on the KA-T I might just say F the enthalpy tune and stand-alone it myself. There is a dyno right accross the street where I work so thats not going to be an issue.
Im probably thinking of going the t-25 series route, you telling me how much your regular t4 t3 costs in the end doesn't make a GT turbo seem all that bad for the price....... they are good quality and have some nice features, so this weekend I might go do some junkyard searching... hopefully I can find a turbo halfway decent......
anyone have any stories of trying to rebuild a turbo?
Same here, there is a place next door to the place i used to work (my dad still works there) and if you watch across the yard, you can see some badass cars going in there, and later you hear em winding up on the dyno. And then across the street we have an engine specialist shop that builds high HP honda engine (at least that is what they specialize in, i think they do other 4 cylindars also.). The place i worked is like on Industrial lane LOL, just shops, machinery shops, hydralic shops, metal fabricators, ect.. Its awesome to because when you work in an area like that, you get tons of shops helping eachother out, and you get the personal hookup. A guy at a place called Star*Metal fab took me out to lunch one day becuase they needed a worker and i was sent over to help. I got to talking and he said i mentioned about how i was gonna need to do some metal fabricating for intercooler piping, about 2.5" and hes like "oh, come by some weekend with the car, and i could easily have rick one of our best fabricators help you do that, it should cost much"......Wait, i just rambled on for an hour...
Ok, well about rebuilding turbos, ive been doing it for a while now (prolly 3 or 4 years). If you have the right stuff, can get parts, and are good with diagnostics on what to do with stuff thats bad then you could probably learn. If you have any real questions, feel free to send me a message. Ive bought some rebuild kits from HLturbo.com (look them up, theyve now changed there name so you'll have to google them to find the site) and they also do balancing for you there. I get core turbos from my dads work for free, and then rebuild them. Sometimes, they are easy builds, and others i end up having to scrap most of the stuff if clearance in the center section is bad, or it is scarred inside the center housing. Hope that helps you though.

SR20DETpower, don't forget about Bikirom. I know you are all about cost effectiveness, and that is prolly the way to go if you want to tune yourself. Search for it on KA-T.org. It is an ECU tune, but you do the tuning. Pretty cool for the extreme DIY'er NTM there is no end to what you can do with it.

sorry to change topic back to the VLSD. Yea sr20power i agree. I was just going to buy a better lsd. But i figured those are only needed for a good whp vehicle because its a guaranteed lock. I think you are talking about their daughter board for sr20. Bikirom makes different daughter boards for KA24 (maybe sr also idk), and the beauty of it is that you don't need to burn chips, it has a USB port through which you can datalog while on the go and change things around instantly. Lets you tune stock ECU, similar to that of standalone. I think they are working on a version with boost controller and a lot of other cool little features that can really simplify the setup.
