I had a service appointment today, so I could get the PCM recalibrated to fix the 2-3 & 3-2 shift clunk in my 2 week old 2005 rado. The tech calls me at the end of the day to say its fixed and he can't tell it's there anymore, he also adds he thinks the 05's already have the nickel plated slip yoke. I pick my truck up go for a test drive and the clunk is still there. So I left my truck for further inspection. And plan to leave it there until fixed.

1. So do the 05's have the nickel yoke?

2. Will the nickel yoke DEFINITELY fix the clunk?

3. Will a Racquet ball fix the clunk?

4. Will a new Transmission filter & Royal Purple Max ATF fix the clunk?

5. So what's the FULL-TIME fix for the clunk?

I've had that clunk in every 4wd 4l60e trans I 've owned, this is different than the clunk as you come to a stop or accelerate from a stop, the binding of the front yoke causes this. The 2-3 clunk is caused by a " tolerance" stack in the trans and transfer case combined, never had any problem as a result, never heard of a fix for it and there has been a TSB explaining this for years. There is a lot going on tin the trans in 3-2, 2-3 shifts that aggravate the condition.
