I am currently in the US Army and stationed overseas in Germany. I have a 04' Chevy Cavilier. I just got back from being deployed to Iraq and i had my car in storage. When I picked the car up i really had no problems until i got on the road. My break pedal pulsates when i break. It almost like the ABS Brekes are kicking on. Does anybody have any ideas? Your help would be greatly apprecated. Thanks

something the ABS unit is goofy and needs to be reset. try taking the cables off the battery and that will reset the system. also check your brake fluid

Have you ever been on a slick surface and heard your abs working? Is this the same sound its making now?The reason I ask is that the pulsating could be a warped rotor. Is the pulsating porportional to road speed.

have a reputable shop turn both the front rotors and the drums and have them adjust the rear brakes that should take care of your problems.

i bet that if it was siting for along while that you may have a warped rotor it may be worth your while to buy two new front rotors and put your car on jackstands next time that you are stationed where you dont have the car if its outside a cover is always worthwhile and they sell ones for the rims and tires as well i no its probably not a show car but it will help you save it in the long run

Thanks First off Welcome back and Thank You.IF it wasn`t doing it before you parked your car it could possibly be rust on the rotors or drums,I can`t see them warping just because the car was in storage,if they did what are they made of tin foil? The rear brakes may need to be cleaned up and re adjusted also .let us know what you find .
P.S how`s the tires ?
