Seat belt light

I have a '97 GTP with 85000 miles on it. First of all, it has been regularly maintained and runs like a champ (knock on wood). However, since i got it used almost 3 years ago, the seat belt light in the dash comes on even when my seat belt is hooked in. It seems that it's just a loose wire b/c i can pull on the part where the belt hooks in and the light will go off. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

The seat belt latch receptacle by the console has a sensor. It may be defective or it is just a wiring problem. But look underneath the seat and check the electrical connector at the wiring harness. Follow the wiring to the seat belt latch and look for fraying/damage. Good luck!
