2000 Civic Si or s2000....so far i think im going with the s2000 but ive been hearing from people that the s2000 is a waste of money. With the civic si i will have lots of money to play around with where as with the s2000 i wont have as much. When ever i look in a import mag all i see is civics and s2000's dont know which would be better for me. What do you guys think...peace

well..there's many parts for the s2000
all the major companies, DC sports, AEM, Comptech...etc. have parts

if you're really determined to play around with the car, maybe you should get the civic, but you'll be spending alot before a stock 2000 civic Si can run with a s2000

Get the S2000 for one simple reason, it's a sports car. A civic is not a sports car, never was, never will be. The S2000 is RWD, the civic is FWD, enough said.

Also, there are lots of things you can do with an S2000. The best probably being a comptech supercharger.

If you just want something to play around with, sure a civic might be nice. But if you want a real sports car, one thats really going to perform, get the S2000.

I test-drove an S2000. IN MY OPINION for $36,000 I think you'll get more enjoyment out of modding a 1994 Civic... and you'll beat the S2000 too!

So far ive had many people tell me to go with the civic si but recently i test drove the Nissan Sentra SER Spec V and it is a lot of car for the price. Now many people are telling me to go with the spec v and some are telling me to go with civic si. I think those are my 2 picks right now...im not sure if i am willing to spend $30,000 for the s2000. People are telling me that they can take 6g's and make the spec v a way faster car then the s2000. What can you guys tell me about the Spec v and maybe shine some light on this problem i have.

What prices have you been quoted for the Civic si?

i found a blue 2000 civic si with 18k for $17,500 but the guy just went down to $16,100

the 2002nissan sentra spec vbase goes for about 18,000

and as you know the s2000 goes for about $32-36,000

Well, new cars aren't exactly perfect, but there IS less chance of a new 2002 being red-lined every Friday night than a used car. I would go for the new Nissan, but I just don't know of ANY mods for it. If U do then cool:smoka:, but having a car with no potential for mods is frustrating. On my DMC, every mod is custom and takes four times as long to make/install :(

And you'll be driving a car that EVERYONE and their grandmother has, it's slow as balls to begin with, doesn't have much potential.. yadda.. yadda.. yadda.. I drive a Civic, I know.

If front wheel drive made sense, why aren't there front wheel drive fish???

no...it's not bad
the 6th gen civic is one of the nicest gen's of civics i've seen, along w/ the 5th gen EG6:D

the SE-R spec V is nice
comfy skyline seats...nice engine

lots of stuff for the SE-R too
check Sport Compact Car, they have a project SE-R
it should help you if you decide to mod it

GET THE S2000

Civics are so...bland everyone has them... all the highschool kids that waste their cash on them have one. I mean most of them look nice...but they are so ugly. no offense to neone. But the S2000 would be much much nicer. And when you mod it up a lil they look a helluva lot better than a civic

Think of a nice curvy road winding its way though forrested hills..... would you rather enjoy this road with a civic or a S2000.

I rather have an s2000, so what if you can make a civic go fast in a straight line, you will never be able to take turns like an S2K.

I must admit im bias, I cant see the point of going fast in a straight line.

how come you arleady claim you own a 2000 civic si .. i thought you were still negotiating ..haah. BUY the s2000 because the reasons you see civics on every mag is theyre so played out and would u wanna be like a regualr human being when you can become a supermodel?? hah... well personally you wouldnt regret it, besides theres always times for mods in the future.
BUT... i would wait for a a '04 s2k where they might come out wiht a 2.2 liter whichll probably have more hp/torque. my 2 cents.

s2k.....:bigthumb:

Should this, should that...Go drive the damn car and find out for yourself. If it's not the funnest car in the world to drive, come back here and let me know, I'll give you 100 bucks for free. It's that simple!

i've driven many s2k's up at work (i'm a valet at a hotel) and for $36k, i'm not impressed at all. It has nice horsepower (240 i believe), but the torque......well, my moms mazda 626 6cyl. has more torque than the s2k does. it handles like a dream, great on the twisties. On the note of mods....there are a ton of mods out there for it, turbo's, superchargers, and anything and everything in between. But i checked out the SC'd and turbo'd numbers on various websites. I think the stock s2k runs somethin like a 13.9 in the 1/4 stock, with a supercharger it only ran i think a half second better.

all in all, i think its a good car, but kind of overpriced. and the engine is already so maxed out, that its kind of diffecult to mod (if your on a budget) i'd go with the sentra se-r spec-v. just my $.02

Go with the S2000! I love those cars! In Car and Driver and Road and Track, the s2k beat the 350z, z4, boxter, and audi TT in a comparison, and it was the cheapest of the five. DEFINITELY better than a civic. If you mod the civic like crazy, sure it will be fast and handle well, but it will take a lot of time and a lot of money. An s2k is fun right out of the box. Not to say that civics are bad. I'm a poor college freshman on a $3000 budget, and my plan is to buy a 5th gen civc hatch, drop in a b16, and build a naturally aspirited DOHC monster. Kind of like a Goodwill version of the s2k. But seriously, I drove an s2k just for the heck of it at a Honda dealership today, and it's loads of fun. If you have the money, get it!

Hey, I actually have a S2000 so I know when I say that the S2000 is one of the best cars that was ever made. I have a 1994 Toyota Supra w/ a single T66 turbo, but my S2000 beats it in the 1/4 mile. I was really suprised. The Honda S2000 is very good at handling and there is a lot of aftermarket parts out there that you can buy. But I noticed you get the biggest horsepower gain out of that engine after you bore out your cylinders and put bigger pistons, crankrod, crankshafts, camshafts, valves, and cams.
