Best Turbo size for LS engine?

Just wondering on what your opinions were on what might be the best size turbo to go with for and LS engine. I would like to hit full boost by at least 3500. So I want something that will push me, but will also take off quick too without taking forever to spool up so that its time to shift by the time the turbo hits full boost. Thanks in advance.

Also, how much boost would I be safe running on a daily basis with a stock bottom end and how much should I be pushing it up to for a race without having to worry about detonation. Thanks again.

You should search for this info. All kinds of good stickies and posts about turbo's. Stock I think the bottom end can handle 8 to 10 psi. BUt I don't completely remember. If I were to turbo daily I would run at 6 to be entirely safe. I mean it would still be faster than stock:)...As far as racing I have no idea but if you are going to get into racing I would deffinately do some more research about strengthining your bottom end. Race cars go through engines like crazy for a reason ya know!!! Not to mention trany's and drivelines....You got that kinda money?

I just meant if I were to line up with a friends civic or something. I wasn't talking about building it strictly for race. Thanks for the information though.

best turbo for an LS would be t25, they spool up fast and are great for low boost applications

T25 is way small...i think something like a T3T4E 57 trim would be good....read this!
Theres a section for figuring out turbo size based on your application...i apologize that its not finished yet, but w/e!

ya T25 is small thats why it spools fast. If your going to use low boost, you want a turbo that spools fast

you will hit boost on a T25 at like 2300 rpm and he's looking for something around 3400......i have the same turbo and that's when it should spool to about 11psi.....and itd make better power too

super 60 or t3/t4. t25 is a waste of time. do a search.

what about the gt28rs...aka the disco potato

GT28rs is still really small and you'd have to push it really hard to get decent power....if i had the money to get myself a new turbo i'd go w/ an SC34 or SC61.....they will spool a little slower but make a great amount of power off of 10-11 psi w/ full boost before 4500rpm......it sounds slow, but at 11 psi, it makes as much power as my turbo at 14 psi and the spool on mine to 14 would be about the same as the SC61 to 11psi......slower spool, but more power on the pressure....
