Parking & Head Lights don't work

Have a 96 626 w/ 176000 mi. Parking & headlights stopped working. They only work when the high beams are on and when I use the turn signals all lights turn off again. Lights come back on when turn signal is off, so only use turn signal during the day. I know it's the light stick that's causing the problem so wondering if anyone knows how I can fix the short that causing this?

replacing the switch.
you'll have to remove the steering wheel, clockspring, and watch the ball and detent behind the switch's shaft. I think you have to swap the pins out of the connector inorder to replace the switch on this model.
