well i was coming back into town and i see cory(turbo integra) and this other guy ive been wantin to race with a brand new s2000.. i pulled up next to cory and he said he was missin gears and still beat him by like 10 cars or something. anyways i talked to the s2000 about the cobalt kid and he says he isnt that fast.

well i asked him if he wanted to run, so we get on the highway at 45 mph and i was in 2nd and then he downshifted and we both took off.. i pulled ahead and shifted into 3rd, missed but put it back in, he gained some ground, then i threw it in 4th and pulled slightly and i beat him by about 3/4 of a car. good kid, i think hes on clubrsx so if u get a chance he will probably be postin a vid of him vs the integra.

btw ive been practicing launching all day, i got into the car with my friend that knows how to drive real good and he told me that it was a perfect launch, so i called the kid with the cobalt and challenged him.

another story soon.

those s2000's get a lot of hype but they really aren't all that fast, especially from a roll. good kill.

they have nice top end, on the highway they are at best, and if u kno how to launch one then they can be deadly, u just have to feather it in or near lift. from what i hear. i just cant believe how quicky i recovered from that misshift.

anyways we installed the agp wga on the srt today, he thinks it feel faster but the boost gauge is reading the same. i told him to get a staged pcm. o well he got a good jump on me tonight and stayed ahead but didnt pull...only from 40-70 tho.

That's wrong. On the S2000 you have to dump the clutch at about 6000 on the street and about 7500 at the track. This way the tires will take the beating instead of the clutch and transmission.

^ is this with slicks, bc last time i checked dumping the clutch at near redline in a non awd car will not turn out so great.. i think u would have to feather it a bit.

That's with the summer tires that the car comes with, not slicks and not drag radials. I've seen videos of S2000s. They have wheelspin for about 1.5 seconds, then they grab and go

I want and S2K...I thought they were supposed to be decent in a top end run...eh, I still want one. Not the only Honda product I would buy, but one of the only two wearing a Honda badge (in the US) with more than two wheels.

get a beater from the junk yard first, it sucks to go get a stick car and not kno how to drive it, happened to my friend that was buyin a mazdaspeed protege. he stalled a few times with the dealer, and had to drive it home in 5 oclock traffic. plus when u race it, u should practice on a beater first so u dont grind gears and shit.

6k is nowhere near an s2k's redline. In fact, that's where it barely hits lift.
