Inside door lights

Can anyone tell me if they stopped installing inside lights in the doors? We have a 00 GT coupe and the "door markers" I guess you would call them light up when you open the door or turn on the interior lights and on our 02 GT coupe the lights don't...they are more like a reflector but do have a spot to install a bulb in it. I took the panel off just to be sure there was no wire in the door and there wasn't.
Did they stop this after 2000 or 2001?

My 99 has lights in the front doors, but only reflector lenses in the rear. Like yours, the hole is there for a bulb, but no wiring. I haven't pulled the door panel off to see if there is anything in the door, but GM is too cheap to run extra wire for nothing.
