Shes going. My car wont pass echeck. 280k+ and i think i have to put her down. I've tried 3 times to get her to pass but its not working. I cleaned all the emissions crap and checked almost everything i can think of. The cat cant be bad because it was replaced before i bought the car and it passed then. Maybe its time to get something else. I dont want an economical car. I like my gas guzzling tank. I would keep trying but i dont think there is a point to keep putting money into her.

Did you check all the little crap, like ignition components, fuel cleaners, making sure your car is properly warmed up prior to the emissions test, etc.........

I am stuck on a do it yourself attitude, but when it comes to emmission tests I found ou t the hard way that it was cheaper to take it to the good old emmision clinics. But I would no be to quick to assume it is not your caoverters

Well i would tinker around with it but the car is old and i live in the snow belt (N.E. Ohio) so it is already falling apart. I can ride on two 30 day tags to get me through winter but im prob going to need a new car.

Can you get a print out of your readings and post them here? Maybe we could help you narrow it down to what the cause is.
I was running a '82 Caprice wagon from 1990-1995. It passed emissions until I burnt a valve coming back from Fla. It had a '76 350 in it, NO emissions equipment, no CAT, no computer. I made up a whole bunch of dummy NY state 10-day inspection stickers for it, ran it for about 18 months that way.
