I was reading an article the other day that said the average persons resting heart rate is 75bpm.... thats higher than I thought. Maybe its the mcdonalds, maybe its stress. so I figured why not find out what other peoples resting heart rate is, other stuff like age height and weight would be kinda fun to know too.
I am 21 years old, 6' 215lbs resting heart rate 55

I've had as low as 46 before but my average is probably low 50's, right no it's 52/54. 75 does seem high though. I know after hard running during track practice I'd be just under 200.

I'm 36yrs old , 6' 2" 200lbs and RIght now , sitting here, my pulse is 58. After I go hav a smoke it'll be higher.
I run/fastjog about 1 mile each morning(weather permitting) and my pulse then is only about 120-130bpm. If a ran another ml it might get up to 180bpm. Dont think I hav seen 200bpm, thats asking for something to blow a gasket. Lol!
Isnt it funny how we're in Automotive Forums, and we are seeing how fast we go, thats oddly funy. :lol2:

Someone once told me that your heart would fail if it ever reached 220 bpm or something, but I think that's false cause you'd pass out first.
But yeah, for track we ran on streets and we'd just run around the block, simulating a 400m, and the last block is pretty steep and that killed. I'd often be at 170 or 180 from being that out of shape. Counting your heart rate 18 times in 10 seconds is crazy.
At school we had these things that you wore around your chest, then a watch that showed your heart rate, and your average heart rate and all this stuff, then it showed how long you were in your "target zone", which is something like 130 - 150 bpm. I was a test mule wearing it one day lifting weights and it was kind of interesting to watch it. I think you could load them onto a computer or something and graph them too.

I dont think 220bpm would kill you, it all depends on the condition of your heart. I got my heart rate at 218 just a few weeks ago. Me and my dad were in the gym on the elliptical machines and just for shits and giggles i put it on the highest resistance setting and started going as fast as i could. After about 2 minutes of that i grabbed the heart rate handles and it said 218. I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. Not too shabby since my max heart rate is supposed to be about 198.

WOW, that's crazy. I know on the peddle machines we always screw around and see how fast we can get them spinning, maybe I'll do that next week sometime and see what I can get my pulse to.

Resting its around 55 or so, at the gym after running 2 miles its around 175, after one hell of a ski run its usually around 185, drops back down fairly quickly to around 65 or so.
