I recently changed my tranmission fluid and filter. I had a few problems with it not even moving while in drive then when i replaced the filter and fluid it started working again. Now the car will move but it tends to pick adn choose when it wants to act like its in nutreal and rev up. I can be going fine and then all of a sudden BAM im redlinin it. I thougth maybe the troque converter but i don't know benings i know very little about those. Any ideas?

Changing the fluid actually probably is making is die quicker. I changed the fluid in my Eclipse I had hoping to prolong the life and it died a week later.

Yes, the tech at Colony Tire, wouldn't change my mother's fluid. He said in the older vehicles, that dirt and sludge is what is holding everything together. He strongly suggests against it, unless you have been doing it all along. Unless mine's burnt and/or leaking... I don't usually change it...

ever since i changed my fluid mine slips when its cold. that was a rebuilt tranny an i changed it a year into it. also theres always a constant burning smell commin from under my hood after i get down on the pedal a little bit. ill jus ride it out til the tranny dies. that way ill swap in a 5 speed an be on my way.
