2001 eclipse slave cylinder

just some info to save some money.
my friend has a 2001 eclipse and the slave cylinder was leaking.
he ordered a replacement from the dealer, $75.00 plus overnight shipping.
it didn't show the next day. so i checked advance autos website.
it didn't list a cylinder but it did show a rebuild kit.
ordered that, and it would be two days.
he needs the car for work everyday.
i took the dis-assembled slave cylinder to the parts store and started looking.
found a honda wheel cylinder kit is identical.
part no. 3661229.
cleaned the old cylinder out and emery papered it and re-assembled.
all you have to do is remove the rubber seal off the old piston and install the new one.
works perfect.
price? ...$3.18 plus tax.

p.s. they also listed a complete slave cylinder, in the store, for the eclipse..$35.00.
but they didn't have it in stock.

i can't imagine when i'll ever use that... but good info! 3.18 damn, thats a good price
