Hey
had some weird stuff happen to my rig this weekend. got the 3.9 have 130k on the thing always runs great. Just won't start in a parking lot after it had been running for 30mins. I was in the store for 10 mins come back out and cranks but nothing. sounds like no fuel so I play around with the wiring harness above the tank and still nothing. come back an hour later fires right up and got it home. Next morning go to start the old goat and the relays are clicking under the hood swap them around ac relay with fuel pump and auto shut down and nothing. what are the chances that more than one relay is bad. finally I get in the thing put the gas to the floor hold it and she fires. read some stuff on relays going bad and possibly something about a wire splice in the harness. very frustrated with this one.
does anyone have any ideas?
I did a complete tune up on this thing including fuel pump and everything else. always has had that bad timing chain rattle to it.
thanks

I have a post regarding the same or similar problem, I notice it more when it is warmer and damp out. I live in new york, has been very cold for a few months, now getting warmer rainy every morning the truck starts very slow and hard, once started it will start right up.

Dan
thanks for the reply I was hoping someone had an idea. Last night I replaced the auto shutdown relay and the fuel pump relay. figured start there. Truck fired right up quick. I shook the hell out of all the wiring harnesses trying to trouble shoot any wire splices in the harness that might be bad. couldn't kill the thing. I guess if it happens again I'll replace the crank position sensor.
thanks
