automatic transmission removal 95 blazer?

First off let me say hello I am new to the forum, I have read alot on here due to previous problems but never joined.

Somehow 2 teeth broke off of the flexplate in my wifes blazer and now I have to change it. What is the easiest way to do so? I already removed the starter because I thought that was the problem, the tranny cross member, and the rear driveshaft because it looks like I can just slide it back to get to the flexplate. How do I get to the top bolts on the tranny because it won't drop due to the frame piece the torsion bars go through? Do I have to lift the body and how far can I? Any help would be much appreciated. I hope most of you guys don't have all the problems I do with her Blazer I am really getting sick of working on it, nothing is as easy as it should be.

I gather that it's a 4x4. If I'm right then your better off to pull the motor.

It shouldn't be too hard, but give yourself a full weekend.

Those top bolts are pretty easy to get to once you pull the motor mounts and drop the motor down as far as possible. Air tools are nice to have here though since there isn't much room to swing the wrenches.

Good Luck with it. It isn't an easy job.

My Blazer is still reliable but I did enough work when I got it to get it that way.
