430 Spider question

Is the 430 convertable a rag top or hard top?

The f430 spider have rag top i dont know why

Kinda wish it was hardtop conv. Not the biggest fan of rag tops. But having a rear engine, guess hard top would be kinda hard to work with

Well, it would mess up everything in the car. The performance, economy, handling and etc. It said on Top Gear that having that convertible option will increase the weight and lower your fuel economy. Also, the window on the top is plastic and Ferrari said that having the small amount of weight at a position that high would mess up the handling.

A hard top would even be worse for the car because of the weight from the additional support bars (within the chassis and body panels) and the weight from the metal top itself.

With that said, Ferrari didn't even wanted to compromise a tiny bit and ended up leaving the hardtop out of the question. These guys know what they're doing.
