speeding over 100 in CA...what are the rules?

i got caught for speeding 110 back in july. i faced the judge in november and he said he wouldn't suspend my license but i would have to go to repeat offender traffic school. i asked him if the 2 points would be erased from my record and at first he said yes, but the stenographer...or maybe she was something else, muttered something to him and then he said that the 2 points would stay.
when i went to traffic school, there was another guy that was caught speeding over 100 and he said that his judge said that the repeat offender traffic school would take care of the 2 points. the instructor said the same thing.
now who's correct?
if the driving school instructor and that other guy's judge is correct, what can i do to make sure that i don't get the 2 points?
thanks
-Mike

In order to make sure you dont get two points.. dont break the speed limit.. :screwy: at 110 they should have given you 4 points.

Im with copcarcrzy. If your have already been caught before and you havent learned then you should get 4 points, license suspended, and your ass kicked for being a moron. NOW onto your question. Usually when the judge says the points stay on is because they feel that you will do it again. Now just because you take the driving school does not mean that you will not get the 2 points. However you could always fight for another hearing with a different judge (BE CAREFUL HOW YOU DO THIS BECAUSE PISS OFF THE WRONG PERSON AND YOUR FUCKED). Let us know what you plan on doing.

it's my fault for speeding. it was 4 am and my contacts were drying up and once they really dry up everything becomes blurry and i can't really see. so please don't think of me as THAT much of an ass...maybe just a little bit.
i want to fight it. well...not fight, but request that the points get taken off. is there any procedure i need to follow?

Let me see if I got this straight... Its 4am.. the speed limit is 65 ?? and the reason you were speeding at 110 mph, was because you couldnt see that the speed limit sign.. Am I close ???
If I was the officer I would have taken you to jail. that's the lamest excuse I have ever heard, Ill have to write that one down in my little black book.
As for the points depending on your driving record, I doubt your gonna drop any points. If the judges in CA, are anything like the judges in Oh. you dont have a prayer, unless you can afford to hire an expensive attorney, I suggest you pay the fine, cause if you go in front of a judge and he see's your record and the current ticket it could be much much worse. In Ohio we are supposed to make you go to court for your third offense in 12 months. I stopped a guy for his third speed, 52 in a 25 and he got 3 days in jail. cause he went to court to fight it and was found guilty..
GOOD LUCK, using that excuse

i already got a deduction from the ticket. i didn't use that excuse when i went to court because there's no reason i should have been speeding that fast. i didn't think i was going 110. that's what i got caught for. i was pretty sure i was keeping it under 100 so i wouldn't get a huge-ass fine.
that's about it.
stop being such hardasses. i'm not coming in here flaunting my racing skilllzzz or that i'm such a badass.

Excuse me? I am not being a hardass. Im just telling you that there is no need to go over 100mph. I dont give a shit what the excuse. I mean seriously i was late at night but what if someone came out in front of you or if you lost control? The consequences that could happen from that type of speed IMO is just not worth it. Now I also didnt come in here and just bash you. I gave you good advice. Also you might want to contact a lawyer and see what he says about it. See if he tells you what you can do and what you cant do. Let us know what goes on.

What a bunch of assholes. MikeJungle didn't post in the forum to be harrassed by a couple bi-polar jerk offs that insist they are not being hard-asses right after they get done being hard-asses. Just get to the point and answer the damn question or shut the hell up and get off his back.
Jesus you act like going over 100 is really that awful though I admit I would be hesitant to do it in a Cavelier or Caprice... I bet you both have done it on more than one occasion and if you haven''t well get out there and live a little. There are a hundred thousand what-ifs in everyday and if all you do is worry about them you might as well end it now.
To the point Jungle guy. What I would suggest you do is call up a local attorney with exprience in traffic matters... Since what happens in Ohio has absolutly nothing to do with wht happens in CA there is no point in applying that to your situation. There must be about a thousand attorneys in your phone book and if you happen to call one who doesn't do traffic court they should be able to refer you to someone who does. Let them tell you how it works and avoid the guess work and the hazing by the other two pricks metioned above.

OKay, I'm sick of warnings. So this WILL be the last. I've said it to you guys multiple times.
1) This is not a place to insult people, give attitudes, or anything other than advice. While he made a mistake, he came in with a humble attitude and admitted fault. Then when another person jumps in you start on him.
Doubletap, while I appreciate your reaction, you don't need to start with the name calling as well.
So finally, this is the last warning for both Chevy and copcar. Next time, I WILL BAN YOU for jumping on somebody's back. Everyone makes mistakes, and by this point I'm sure he has heard it from enough people, including the cop who pulled him over and the judge, and his family, etc. You are not his father, you are not the judge, you are a member on this site and that is all. So if you cannot treat other members on this site with respect, than I see no reason for you to remain here.

Actually, that started when you began posting your self-rightous bullshit. Apparently you don't get the fact that he's admitting that it was stupid and was simply asking if ther was anything that could be done. How about next time you do something stupid, you post it up for us and we'll call you a dumbass all day and ignore the main point of the thread, yes?
Chevy--You called him a dumbass. I'm sorry, but that's completely unnecessary. You ganged up on him because you thought it was the "cool" thing to do. This is not high school.
bottom line: Answer the question or shut your mouth.
