BMW 5 series vs. Mercedes E-Class

5 series vs. E class is the oldest comparison going here in Britain, and the general idea is the BMW has the edge, although i disagree, Just wondering what people from other countries (especially USA) thought

Gotta go w/the 5 Series b/c they got the M5...the best lux sedan on the planet...much better than the E55. (READ MANUAL TRANNY)

Looks-wise im torn but the beemer's a better drive

the BMW 5 Seriesis an amasing car but personally i like the E class better because of it =s styling and the inside is just damn awsome

5 series ... great classy , sporty-discrett look , plus nice engines... Esp. the /// /V\ version rules... the E-class is nice too but it looks a bit overweight esp. the wagon version... Plus in merc you can't get manual tranny with the strongest engines... And bmw offers 540 with a 6-speed and M5 is avaliable only with stick :D

I think the E-Class is more suited for luxo crusing for an old man
The 5-series has a that plus a little kick

I agree that the 5 series is good , but i've gotta give it to the E-class cuz it looks better to me and it's got class.
