I have a 95 Blazer and it has ¾ inch free play in the steering wheel. The play is in the box.
All else is tight and in good shape. I searched the FAQ’S but could find no info on adjustment.
Is it much of a problem to get to and adjust?
Thanks. LS

It's not very difficult. Locate your steering box, Look at the adjustment nut. It is a nut and a slotted stud in it. Loosen the nut about a 1/4 of a turn or so, Use a screw driver on the stud it the center to adjust. Turn it a little either way and check the free play in your steering wheel. Caustion; do not turn it a lot before you check it. Check after one revolution. When you get the desired amount of free play, hold the center stud with a standard screwdriver or allen wrench( which ever one it is) and then use a wrench to tighted the lock nut back. If you over tighten it, it will damage your steering box. In the mean time I look at my documentation and if I have pictures and the procedure, I let you know.

Southern - thanks for the info. Just did this tonight and it worked great.
FYI - when standing in front of the vehicle and looking down at the steering box, I turned the adjuster screw about 1 turn clockwise - no more slop, and it doesn't drive like my buddies Dodge truck anymore.
Now if I can find that damn coolant leak....
Thanks again.
