I'm about to put in a throttle body spacer [Airaid] and was reading that some cables might have to be adjusted. I have a 350 1992 C1500 w/cruise control.
Does anyone know how I can check if cables need to be adjusted when I finish?
I've heard the 92s do need adjustment.. How would I adjust it?
Also, if anyone has any tips with finding the fuel line clamp and loosening it please help! I need some help.. even though most of you are probably laughing at this.
Also, I was about to install a new intake from Airaid, but noticed a 1" tube running down to the exhaust header after the silencer. I did not notice a port on the intake unit, so I was wondering if the pipe was just supposed to be removed? Again.. I know this is fairly simple stuff but I'm only 16 years old and this is my first truck. I've loved Chevys my whole life.. but I've only rebuilt a 20 year old tractor. That was a lot easier and simpler counting not everything was rusted or heated until it can't move. I'm good with finding out whats wrong with a truck, but my dad has never let me touch anything. Now that I have my vehicle, its time to learn!
Please help! Thank you!!!

get the spacer. easy install. tell your dad to chill and let you play. you will need a line wrench remove the fuel lines on the back of the tbi unit. (your carborator) if you dont have line wrenches be VERY careful not to strip them. dont be afraid to pull on the fuel lines a bit to get them to line up with the new heigth of your tbi unit. otherwise all your cables and wires should have enough room to move. the kit should inclued all that you need. just read the directions and follow them. keep all your parts in a safe place so you dont lose them and remember where they go.
I have the airade on my 94. great modification! love it.
Good luck!

Don’t worry about the hose running from the manifold. It’s just a heat tube, its used when it’s cold out (helps the engine warm up faster). Just remove the hose. Now, if you have trouble starting when its cold after you removed the tube, which I don’t think you will have a problem with, you can get a lower radiator hose hater. It keeps the coolant warm. They are simple to install and they only cost around 30 bucks. You will have to drain the coolant for this. So remember to pick some new stuff up, make sure its Dexron coolant.

Thanks for your help! My dads being a pain-in-the-ass.. He tells me all the stories about how he broke 3 inch driveshafts with his 57 corvette but won't let me touch the truck.. So I was running blind on my truck. I was able to get the TBS in after removing the fuel line bracket from the top of the transmission housing. It was a real blast [heh], but I learned a good amount about what things are and where they run/how to take them off. The truck sounds awesome with the new TBS on.. It really sounds like an oversized supercharger.. The intake was really a joke to put on.. Once I was able to look at it without my dad haunting me I saw that it was just attatched to the heat shield. It was honestly a joke to put on..Tomorrow, I'm going to jack it up a few inches and see what gear ratio is in there now to try and fix a speedo problem I've been having. I'm also going to start working on removing the rusted out exhaust system. I thought the truck was loud because it has a 350, but it turns out there's just two big holes in the muffler. I'm hoping that goes fairly easy.. which it should. If I do have my problems with preheater hose, I'll just deal with it until I get a new elec. fan. That should help it warm up a little. Thanks for your help and encouragement!
