New Car Advice, Please

Hi. I just totalled my 1995 Nissan Maxima a few months ago. :( I loved that car. However, I'm probably getting a new car (must be a 2005, 2006, or 2007 model), so I'd like your opinions for two different price ranges: $20,000-$25,000 and $25,000-$33,000. Here are the criteria: it must have amazing handling, it must have a 5-star crash test rating (or 4-star if it's absolutely necessary), a 0-60 time under 8s (or preferably below 7s), and at least 4 seats. It also must be foreign (no domestic American crap that breaks down after a month). It should also look fairly sporty. Either manual or automatic transmission is fine, but I am probably leaning towards the automatic side since my sister may be driving it (like during my first year of college) and doesn't want to hassle with manual. Yeah, bummer, but oh well. However, do not hesitate to recommend manual-only cars. Also, remember that I have two different price ranges because I am unsure of which to choose right now. It depends on if the extra money gives me enough more to justify the cost. Thanks in advance!

VW Jetta GLI
The olny cars I know that have good crash test ratings are Jettas, Jags, and Volvos, 2 of which are owned by Ford. I never really payed attention to crash test ratings, try Edmunds.com
