Brake Light Problem

Anyone have any ideas on why my brake lights aren't working? I've checked the "Stop" fuse is the panel box and it's good...in fact all fuses are good. Checked the bulbs, both good. Both brake lights are out, the park lamps are fine and the b/u light is fine. Is it a possibility that the brake light control on the pedal is bad? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Also, I slid the stoplamp switch lever all the way forward but the brake lights didn't come on. They should come on if the lever is slid completely forward shouldn't they?

get a long wire hook it to the negitve side of the battery then run it to the brake light. this will let you know real fast if you have a ground problem.

Have you checked for power to the brake switch? A test light is all you need. Wire is hot all the time. Once you establish which wire is hot, activate the switch with the test light probe into the other wire, and good ground. If it lights, you know it's not the switch.
Nice truck btw.

Thanks for the reply roadrunner and the compliment. Yeah, I put a voltmeter on the switch and have 12 volts going in and have actuated the switch and it breaks contact like it's suppose to in the upright position. That's whats got me baffled now.

Got them working! It was the connector from the turn signal switch on the steering column not seating down all the way.
