i have a 3.8 bird with flowmaster exhaust(i know, not the best) and stock cat with 145k miles on it. I dont know if it would be better to get a hi flow cat and leave my o2 sensors.... or go with a straight pipe and get the o2 sim for the second sensor(i have 1 before and after cat). I dont race around much. im 17 though so ya, i do get crazy some times but for the most part im a casual driver just gettin around my little town. So if i got the o2 sim i dont want it to mess with my engine performance or anything. any help would be appreciated....thanks.
p.s
which one do you get more for your money? thanks

When I put in hi-flow cats I found it easier/cheaper to have a shop delete the codes for the rear O2's.

Bout how much is it to delete the codes? this makes it to where the computer just "forgets" about the rear o2 right? where would i get this done?

I had a local late model GM shop do it for me.
Not sure where exactly you could get this done.
It cost me $60 or something like that.

I have no idea what it would take to delete codes from the V6's computer.

but when you say "delete the codes" is that basically where the computer doesn't read anything from the rear sensor?

Basicly.

In simple words...turns off the rear O2's.

so even for a hi flow you have to do somethin with the rear sensor or was that just personal prefrence?

With a hi-flow mine would still throw the codes.

Why not go with a straight pipe if you had to delete codes anyway? Backpressure?

I said screw it, and got rid of them now though.

heres a question kinda on the topic..
which would be better to go with hi flow cats or an off road y-pipe...(for both you still have to delete the o2 codes..right?)..
this is for my 98 trans am which has magnaflow exhaust and in process of getting jet hot headers...
just trying to get the most performance not worried too much on sound...and we dont have emission checks in florida..just to let you know..
