I have a 96 jetta trek edition with 197k on it. The engine cranks but wont start, but once in a while it will start but if i hit the accelerater hard it will die and if i accelerate slow it will run for awhile but will eventually die...is it a fuel pump or fuel line problem? or something electrical...i already replaced my spark plugs and still the same problem....any suggestions?
thx Rob

Sounds like a fuel related problem. Get a fuel pressure gauge on it and check the pressure.
