3.42 (very very very very rarely you will find one of the manuals was given 3.23's) but 99% of the time the manual has 3.42's. To know for certain you can always look in your glovebox for code GU6 for 3.42's or GU5 for 3.23's.

Could open up the rear and see what the ring gear is marked as but there is a 99.999999% chance you have 3.42's. Thats how rare the 3.23's were. It was like getting 2.93 gears in your auto. Very rare.

Where would the ring gear be marked? Im going to put on a ta aluminum cover on soon and I was going to see what the gears were. They couldve been replaced before I got the car.

right along the side of the ring gear, it will say the number the of ring gear teeth like -41 - then the number of pinion teeth like -11- you then take the number of pinion teeth and divide that into the number of ring gear teeth and you get your ratio of gears.

You could also try calling Chevrolet customer service and give them your vin. They can probably tell you what gears your car originally came with. Pontiac customer service has given me info on my car and what option I had.
