Hi all, my 98TSP with the leaking fuel line has bee sitting for two weeks now without being started.

Can or will this hurt the van !?

Here in Ottawa, Canada it's been real cold... coldest temps in Canada excluding the Northwest Territories. Average temps around -15 Celsius and a couple times down as low as -25 (and that's not including the wind chill factor !!).

The van has a engine block heater that's been plugged in. You can tell that it's working good too. I read alot of post's where people were having problems with frozen wipers, well it seems with the block heater plugged in it tends to keep that area right above the engine fairly warm and make for easy clearing of the snow and ice from the windshield wiper hide away spot.

So how do you think my Trans Sport will handle what amounts to sitting in a deep freezer for two/three weeks.

Is there anything anyone recommends before starting her up.

I plan on getting a oil change soon after I get her back on the road, even tho the oil right now looks brand new.

Coolant level in the reservoir is right on the line where it's supposed to be.

My work truck (99 windstar) which I don't plug in at night had a hard time starting yesterday, stalled 4 times before it stayed running (never did that before), engine sounded frozen ! Real slow crank !

Thanks
Wayne

With the block heater on for just a few hours, it will go without problem, and the numbers of days is not a factor, except if you have a poor battery that needs being kept charged all the time by running vehicle. BTW, the windchill factor will bring it down to ambient temperature faster, but not colder that "true" temp....a thermometer in the wind shows same temp as with no wind (with no "sun-up" factor shining on the thermometers, seldom considered by "weather show" persons who like more hype than facts).
