Just bought a blazer!!!!!

I just bought a 2000 blazer 4.3L V6 Vortec LT and i have a few questions as to stuff that i am finding. The first one is if someone can tell me what the sizes of all of the speakers are so I can replace them. A few of them are blown. Second is there is a little black box hanging down from the roof inside right next to my rearview mirror. i think it might be a remote starter, but am not sure. Third is in the back cargo area, there is two hidden storage compartments. the left has the jack and other stuff, but the right one has two metal boxes in it that say delphi delco electronics on them. i assume they have something to do with the stereo, but what are they.

The stuff on the passenger side are your On-star modules, the black box is most likely the antennae for it, can you post a pic?

Your speakers are 6.5 in the front, and in the back they will be 6X9 in a 2-door and either 5.25 or 6.5 in a 4-door (can't remember exactly which one offhand). If you can find an "oversize" 6.5, it is a better fit than the standard due to its wider mounting flange.

if you have a Directred Electronics alarm: Viper, Clifford, Python, Avital, theres a few more but you get the idea, its what sends/recieves the signal from the remote.. it kinda resembles a Viper remote.... I'll get a pic after I find my glasses so i can see.

seriously, that thing is ridiculous. way to many cool toys. all i have is a tomtom and ipod for entertainment (and my psp for stop lights)

well im sorry to hear you bought a blazer. i made the plunge about 3 years ago, and ive had enough, im trading the chevy in for a new ford.lol. one more electrical problem and id pull my hair out for real. no seriously good luck with the blazer and the boxes in the back and by the mirror are for on star. oh and ps on star is a bunch of crap unless your a women who locks your keys in the car ALOT! (like my wife)

to jc327- Thanks for the speaker measurements. I'm going to put all pioneer audio in my blazer. In dash cd player deh-p3600, 6-disc cd-changer, all pioneer speakers, 3- 10 inch subs- 800 watt amp, and sirius x-act visor.
to mike1224- The box is on the other side of the mirror. It is a black box and is square.
to box369- I'm 25 and I'm a guy. I'm not going to get onstar because of the price, besides, that is what AAA is for. Good luck with ford.:disappoin

I don't have a digital camera, but took pictures and am going to have them put on a cd and then i will post them on a post sometime this week. A friend of mine told me that one of the boxes that says delco on it is an amplifier, and the other one is a cell phone antennea that is on the back window. The box says Motorola on it. I also found out that the blazer has keyless entry and an alarm on it. I pushed the lock button one day but then pushed up the lock lever for the drivers side door, because I had to go back out in an hour. I opened the door and HONK! HONK! HONK!, the alarm went off. I am going to go to the local chevy dealership and get a remote for everything and have it programed to the car. Somebody else told me that the box looks like a remote starter. She has a 96 blazer, and the box is in the same spot.

actually i was joking around. when i saw your post i thought i would look into it to see if it pertained to me. but it didnt and i was just sarcastically saying blazers have alot of issues or so mine did. i only joined this forum to fix a problem with my 'piece' but like i said i got rid of it and now have a f250 duper duty super crew power stroke turbo diesel lol dont take me slamin on a blazer to hard i put my time in with chevy and im moving on.

I have a 2000 and I dont have the 2 black boxes. I would imagine they are for the audio setup but I thought the upgraded version was a BOSE system?. As far as the one by the mirror that most likely is remote start, because unless the previous owner had it installed afterward I dont belive the 2000 came with it stock. I could be wrong though.
