Hey Guys,
I Have A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x2. There Is A Hollow Thump (loud) On Any Tiny Little Bump. Rock, Pothole, Speed Bump, Stick In The Road, Road Imperfections - Anything. I Have Replaced The Sway Bar And The Shocks. Brake Pads, Tires, Axle Seals. If You Put Your Ear On The Fenders (inside) It Sounds Like It Is Right There. But I Can't Believe It Is The Springs. Please Help - Thanks Guys!

How do you get your ear on the fender while going down the road over bumps?!? Seriously, it could be a cv joint. They can make kind of a hollow popping sound at times. Also broken engine mounts pop at times under bumps or torgue. Hope this helps narrow it down.

It might be the bar pins in the lower shock mounts (front shocks).
If you look on page #2 on the forum, toward the bottom there is a thread about the bar pin eliminators, sounds like this is your problem.

There are also the stabilzer link arms that go from the sway bar to the axle, and the boot at the top of that can go out, and as a result it will clunk on the spring. Also if that is it when you turn you will notice more body roll, thats a pretty good indicator. My '96 used to make sounds everytime i went over a bump, hole or something.
