what diffs?

i have a 1990 jeep cherokee 4x4 and i was wondering what kind of dana differentials it had cause it says dand on it but not specifically if its a 35 40 44 etc..

It's a Dana 35.
For that year, some came with C-clips to retain the axle shafts ("Dana 35C"), some did not, and used a bearing plate at the ends of the axles instead.
The 44's came on '87's, but were occasionally used on some 88's and 89's.

MagicRat, I thought the "C" refered to "custom" not c-clip.

Yes. Both are 35's. If you look at the link, you'll see the bolt pattern. The chart calls out that you have a Dana 35C in the rear and a Dana 30 in front.
