heard somewhere that there is a cheap aluminum intake that is suppose to work really well on the small block chevys. I have a stroked 350 with headers and im looking for an aluminum intake for my 4 barrel carb.

edelbrock intakes are made of aluminum i believe. if you have a beefed up 350, i would go with the performer rpm intake that is for slightly modded engines. i think its designed for 1500 to 6500 rpm. the lesser performance one (performer eps) is for idle to 5500 rpm or so and is better for street purposes. i had the eps on my stock 350 ever since i bought it and i guess it worked fine lol i never compared it to the stock intake though because it never had the stock one by the time i bought the vehicle

From what you've said then a regular Performer or something similar is what you need. Mild cam...Performer RPM...or something similar. Stay away from open plenum intakes unless you are running low gears and lots of rpm and racing. Stick with dual plane for the street unless something like gas mileage doesn't concern you.

Dont know about cheap but edelbrock does make some pretty good parts for beefed up 350s. looking at getting their direct port when i can save up 2 grand, maybe my tax return can help me out.

A company called Professional Products makes some cheap intakes that are supposed to be pretty good, some even claim they make more power than Edelbrock. I was going to get one myself but I got a better deal on a used Dart Coolkan intake. Check out the Crosswind 52025/52026 intake. It's the equivalent to the Edelbrock Air Gap RPM intake. Here's the link: http://www.professional-products.com/manifoldsProductSBchevy.php
Also, if you click on the link to my cardomain site under the pic of my Nova you can check out the Dart intake I bought. It is the Dart equivalent to the Air Gap RPM and the Crosswind. These designs of intakes are pretty much the best you can get for overall HP and Torque. :grinyes:
