i have a 95 convertible w/ the 3.0L engine and less than 70k miles

there is a high pitched whining/squealing noise coming from both wheels. when i turn or apply the brakes the noise is almost gone.

my first guesses were hubs, wheel bearings, and or cv joints...

this is also accompanied by a transmission fluid leak (which i hope is a separate issue). added some lucas tranny fix for the leak tonight. this hasn't been known to mess up the tranny in lebarons has it?

Well, I'm not sure if it's been known to mess it up or not, I just don't use it. As far as the whining goes, your anti-rattle clips may have been broke and fallen off or just not there, that will cause them to whine. That is prollt the most likely cause that i can think of according to your description.

Well, remove the wheel and on the bracket that the pads slide on there should be 2 clips one on the top, and one on the bottom that goes over the pads and holds them in place when the brakes are not applied. Otherwise the pad will hit the rotor and rub against it creating noine, You do not hear it when the brakes are applied because they are being held on the rotor, it doesn't do it upon turning because the weight shift will cause then to come off the rotor.
