Center console lights

i have a problem with the symbols (P,R,N,OD,D,L) not lighting up like they are supposed to. I dont need the symbols but i would like to get them fixed. I know it could be the lightbulb, but i was wondering if it was anything else? please help! and if it is the lightbulb (which it porbably is) how would i get to it after i take the center console piece off?

Generally when you take the console off you'll see the light and its socket.
