pwr steering leaks

I have to sell my car, but need to fix 2 things first.
It's a 95 convertable with the X motor(3.4) I've replaced the hoses the pump and the ring between the pump & tank. Ive doubled the rings and used different rings at the reservoir. Has anyone replaced the pump and not been able to gat a seal at the reservoir where it seats into the pump? Or is my eyes playing tricks on me- Is there something else that makes it appear it is coming from there?
Anyone?
PS any suggestions on best or (easiest) way to drain the gas tank would be appreciated.
