Need Help Asap Thnx

Aright guys i have 2 problems with my 93 escort 1.9l. After swapping the throttlebody, changing the location of the kick and throttle cable with a mustangs and adding an air intake i have come across these problems. My first problem is when i step on the gas with a little extra force, the engine, i guess it lags and kicks before it gets going. Any way to fix that. My other problem is that at times like once a week or soo, the rpm gauge drops and the engine turns off after coming to a stop at like a red light. Any way to fix that? THnx

why a tb from a mustang?

it has a larger opening = more air flow= more horsepower

not if you still have stock intake mani, head, header and exhaust, other wise its like .5whp.

would make more sense to port the stock one instead of redoing all that stuff

I don't wanna to sound mean, but yes it does and more than you think, its just a fact and im laying it out cause all those who have the 1.9s noe what im talking about. And even if it didnt, the intake is modified to a cold air intake of the 3.6 mustangs, the head cylinder is a new one with specially valve seating and timings, the cover is off a 2.0 allowing more flow in a bigger chamber. and swapped muffler gives better flow out of the engine.

muffler? wtf does the muffler matter the rest is still restricted? the muffler is the least of the problems.


show me any dyno thats a car w/ barely any mods makes power from a TB. I ve seen cars loose HP from then w/o enough flowing mods, and a 2.0 zetec will only make like 1whp from it IF that.

Dude im not trying to make my car a freakin f1 race car, i just did little mods here and there for shits and giggles, just enough so its at least above 88hp. All i wanted to know was how to make the car work. Im not down to bore out the engine, freaking spend 50000, and go racing with rice rockets. Thnx for your help anyway
