Hello all, My blazer is stuttering when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear or going into the overdrive mode. At about 40mph, the RPM's continue to rise beyond 2000 and the transmission starts to stutter which jerks the truck as if it is chugging along. Let off the gas, RPM's go down, truck will run fine until going up a hill or passing someone. It seems like the overdrive is confused and the transmission does know what to do. I have had it checked out and the only codes indicated MAF sensor. I have been told by another to get the tranny checked. Looking for some help on this. I am going to try to replace the MAF and get the check engine light off. Truck has 130k miles and a replaced motor 1yr ago. Thanks!!!

Clear the DTC's and get the engine running correctly before you condemn the transmission. Transmissions are like computers, junk in - junk out. You can't expect it to shift smoothly when it's not getting a smooth input from the engine. Sometimes it is very difficult, even for a professional, to determine if the problem you’re experiencing is engine or transmission related. That’s where the “Service Engine Soon” light is helpful.
