low idle, check engine light, choking
mistified

Hey Just a quick question.
Recently, I threw in a bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner. Since then the car has been rough, not the tank with the cleaner in it, but ever since. Basically the car almost chokes when you step on the gas in a lower range RPM. You have to rev the car before letting off the clutch or it really feels like how those old GM school buses take off (where it jerks then doesn't then does), although if you put down the clutch rev the engine up and engage the clutch again, its fine in a higher rpm again. It's a 95 talon ESI. also the check engine light decided to come on if it's really rough, and it flashes 5 times before staying on solid. I've changed the spark plugs, air filter and sprayed throttle body cleaner thru the air intake hose. The intake hose looks fine, and all the plugs spark. In idle it varies from 1100 to 600 when it's cranky. It's almost like it's choking and trying to clear its throat?
Any suggestions?

Get the code read. Often if you go in to a machanic and ask for an estimate for fixing the problem, they will read the code and give you an idea of what you are looking at for repairs.
By the way, I've heard that using throttle body cleaner in the turbo models is bad for the T.B. I'm not sure if this pertains to the Esi models as well, but thought I would throw you a heads up.
Good luck.

Possibly the fuel filter.
