I would like to know if any body has ever replaced the heate blower resistor in a 96 chev. cavalier, and is it very easy to get at.

Ive relaced one in a 95 cavalier. It's located under the passsenger side dash next to the blower motor, near the floor . Find the connector , it runs to a small printed circuit board. It should just pop out, then repace it with a new one. Most dealer parts departments can tell you where its located and how to remove it.

Somewhat difficult to remove, it's best to remove the passenger seat to get at it. It's under the glove box; remove the plastic kick panel. Unplug the blower motor connector, then remove the blower motor (3 screws). Now remove the resistor board connector, then remove the resistor board (2 screws). The top screw on the resistor board is VERY hard to get at, a neddle nose pliers works the best. Not a hard job to do, just difficult because of tight spaces. It took me less than an hour to do it.
The board itself is about $25.00 at most part stores.

if you fold the seat back and lay upside down on the seat (so your head is on the floorboard) it works well... every thing said above it right on for removing it. I would just not remove the seat and use a small 1/4" swivel with a long ext. to get at that last bolt This is how I did it and It was quick and easy.
