Door Lock Problem

Hey everyone,

I have a 94 Continental

I'm havinga bit of a problem with my door locks. The problem is that they dont lock, nor unlock at all. I use Snap-on Shopkey program, as well as All-Data as diagnostic aids. I checked all obvious routes( fuses, fusible links etc) Now im to the point in the Diag. where it asks me to check the "Door lock Processor". Part of my problem is, neither of my programs state where this is located. The keyless entry/Alarm part seems to work fine, but the door locks do not move at all from any source ( Key fod, outer keypad, button on Drivers & Pass. doors)

It very well may be. I dont think so, however. Alldata lists 2 seperate items, one is the Keyless entry module, the other is listed as the Door Lock Processor. The Keyless entry works as it should, aside from the fact that the door locks do not accuate. By that I mean, the Interior/Courtesy Lights, keypad Light, and door lock lights all illuminate, the drivers seat moves to its memory position ( which doesnt seem to work otherwise), and if you push "lock" twice, the horn sounds briefly as it should. I was going to try and avoid tearing off the door panel unless I had to, but it seems I should. As I may find the module I need in there somewhere. Not only that, I need to check what size speakers are in there so I can replace them with a suitable High-end replacement :grinyes:

I dont know of a Door Lock Processor so finding it's going to be tricky.
I've been under the impression that he Keyles module sends power directly to the lock solenoids. I suppose it would make sense to utilize a Lock Processor that would take orders from the Keyless module and all the manual lock switches.

Mines a 96 and I don't know if theres much similarity between ours -- I have the wiring diagrams for 96.

You can get the 1994 FoMoCo service bay CD from fordcds.com which also has wiring diagrams if you want to check it out before digging in the door.

Speakers should be 5" x 7".
