First of let me start of by saying.....

HOLY SHIT THAT WAS ONE HELL OF A GAME.

Two of the best teams ever duking it out to the absolute last minute in the game. Vince Young goin for over 400 total yards. Bush who? He had a few good breaks, but the Texas D kept him from doing anything insane like he did all during the season. I'd be damn, that LenDell White was making me nervous though, 3 TDs nearly untouched. All in all that game was an instant classic. Now I'm even prouder to be a Texan and the fact the we finally have a definite football champion here (coughcowboystexanscough).

Discussion time.

p.s. I don't want to here any bullshit about that Vince Young pitch in the 1st half, UT would've scored with or without that pitch.

Texas owns! But no shit right. Regardless of whether they turned that lateral around to his knee being down, they would have scored. He was inside the 10 with a 1st down. It would have just been another Vince TD instead of another Selvin TD(went to high school with him).

USC fluffed it by hardly playing Bush. What were they thinking? But I think the game showed who the real Heisman is.

Yeah that was a kick ass game. Going into the game I thought for sure USC would win but I was hoping Texas would and I was very happy with the result!

Right now, I think we're the better team. We just didn't play well enough to win.

The scoreboard didn't show you were the better team, asshat.

What I'm proud of is...
1. any threat of USC breaking OU's win streak is over
2. everybody knows the PAC-10 is not a dominate conference (like that didn't take much thought)
3. Matt and Reggie lost their luster when they actually faced a defense
4. Vince is gone, if he's smart

and finally

5. OU's victory in October is going to be that much sweeter

Matt is correct. USC is the better team. You see, when a team with less skill beats a team with more skill it's called an UPSET. Anyways, Pete Carroll was the one who fucked up, not the team.

Here's how I see it:

1. That choice of going for it on 4th down in the first quarter when they were on the 15 yard line was retarded. USC was up 7-0, always go for points.

2. Bush's uncharacteristic lateral in the first quarter was a huge shot in the teams momentum. Though Pete can't be blamed for that one.

3. Not challenging the lateral by Texas was obviously stupid. Whoever makes the call to challenge needs to be fired.

4. Poor use of timeouts in the second half was the deciding factor in the teams loss. Why the fuck would you call a timeout after Texas scored the final touchdown?!?! 50 seconds was more than enough time to atleast get a field goal....unless you don't have any fucking timeouts.

It was a great game none the less.

I'll tell you what screwed the game for USC. 4th and 2, and you go for it with a run play...without using your Heisman trophy winner....

Ummm no. Why is it so hard to believe that Texas wanted it more and Texas earned it? Texas had better talent on defense and sure, their offense was a one man show, it got the job done though didn't it? USC's defense sucked and it's clear Young, not Bush, should have the Heisman.

1. That choice of going for it on 4th down in the first quarter when they were on the 15 yard line was retarded. USC was up 7-0, always go for points.

There were several plays that people in the end thought Pete called correctly. I don't know, this seems to be wishy washy.

2. Bush's uncharacteristic lateral in the first quarter was a huge shot in the teams momentum. Though Pete can't be blamed for that one.

It was stupid, yes, but if this guy is as good as they say, he should be able to pick himself up and say, "that was stupid, but I'm going to go out there and do better next time." We did not see this from the "Heisman" winner.

3. Not challenging the lateral by Texas was obviously stupid. Whoever makes the call to challenge needs to be fired.

Bad calls went both ways. Sure, his knee was down, who is to say he wouldn't of made it the next play? Also, Texas clearly intercepted the ball which lead to the USC field goal going into the half.

4. Poor use of timeouts in the second half was the deciding factor in the teams loss. Why the fuck would you call a timeout after Texas scored the final touchdown?!?! 50 seconds was more than enough time to atleast get a field goal....unless you don't have any fucking timeouts.

I think they were wanting to get the touchdown. USC did not want to go into OT.

True.

Well White had better numbers and more touchdowns than Bush. He was tearing 8 yard plays when he ran it. I would of picked him in that game over Bush because he was clearly a bigger threat for Texas.

The eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the live-long day.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
At night or early in the morn.

It's not so much the actual numbers from the night as the versatility and mind games you can play by putting reggie bush in, he posed more of a threat in the defensive coordinators play calling more than anything, there were more options that Texas had to think about with Bush in there. I'm not saying the other back wasn't good, i'm just saying, Reggie would have made them think more.

Bush didn't get played hardly at all. 82 Yards Rushing, 95 in Catches. 177 Yards isn't really up to his par. And going for it on 4th down with him on the sideline, I was like WTF? Well Congrats to the Vince Young Longhorns.

I have to agree with USC putting in White during that 4th and 2 play. All night he'd been busting it up the middle, especially on those 3 TD's. Bush is great and all, but you gotta play your power back in power sitations.

Yep, it may be true that Texas wanted it more. I had that feeling watching the game too. USC made a bunch of little mistakes and Texas took advantage. I still feel that USC has the better program.

And the only thing CLEAR about the Heisman thing is the overwhelming vote for Reggie Bush!!
