Stalling Problem

Hey guys, I have a 1990 Town Car 5.0L. Monday I was driving down the road when the car stalls. It didn't sputter when it stalled, but it just quit running. It wouldn't restart either. I had it towed home. When I got home, I got in the car and it started fine. I drove it for about 5 miles no problem. Later that night I went to try and start it, and i wouldn't start, just cranked. I am getting fuel when it doesn't start.
Later in the week I was driving and it stalled, it didn't restart on teh first time, but the second time it started. IT was running rough when it finally started. After I got moving the roughness disappeared and it was running fine.
Last night, it stalled and wouldn't start back. I kept trying to start it, and I noticed if I held the key to the start position it would stay running and it would Rev up but only to about 2000 rpm. If I put the car in drive it would die. Finally I got it started and made it home.
Tonight I took the ignition control module out and had it tested. It tested out fine. I talked the guy at autozone, and he told me the ignition coil could also cause this. BUT, he also said a nuetral safety switch could cause the problem as well. Does anyone have any advice for me? All help is appreciated.

sounds like your loosing your spark from your spark plugs. that is usually caused by a camshaft position sensor. HOWEVER, if the car has a distributor, which i'm not sure if the 5.0L had or not, then thats your problem. i actually think you car does have a distributor. thats probably your problem most of the time you need a new rotor and a cap. get that checked out.
