Cup Holder/Ash Tray & Lighter Issue..

I forgot exactly what year was it that Lexus decided to take care of their little designing error on the whole cup holder/lighter & ash tray compartment, but I have a 92 ES300 and I was wondering if anyone figured something out so that they can have a cupholder, and have something plugged into the lighter at the same time.

Trying to stay away from adding a Wal-Mart cupholder...looking towards something like a modified center console. I'm just dreamin, huh? hehe..:bandit:

I solved this problem relatively easily... at RadioShack you can pick up an aux. cigarette lighter for less than $10.00. Although it is a little tricky, it can then be hardwired... I had no clue what I was doing & it still took less than 25 mins.

My lexus is a 1996, and I still have the lighter cup holder issue! Not that this helps you but at least now you know that in 1996 the problem was still in play.
