alright, so i could use some help here guys. i'm just replacing the stock speakers in my car with the same sized (6.5's) aftermarket ones. it's a 95 honda prelude vtec. installing the back speakers looks easy enough but the front speakers have me stumped. i'm told that the whole door panel has to come off in order to get to the speaker but i have no idea where to start and don't see any screws... any help or links would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

the speakers should be screwed onto the droor itself, so yes, you need to take off the door panel. you could use a flathead screwdriver to pop it out at the edges near each peg, but there is a special tool you can buy at places like autozone or the internet specifically for doorpanels. they're a bit safer, as they probably wont break the pegs. anyway, once you do that, you should be able to unscrew the speaker. if its anything like the civic or accord of same generation, there is also a plastic baffle for weather protection. its pretty shallow, so if you get good aftermarket speaks with a deeper mounting depth, you'll need to buy new baffles. i got foam ones from crutchfield.
