Buying Celica '01

Hey.
I'm looking for a celica to buy, year 2001-2005.

I found a silver Celica GT-S, 2001, 53,000 miles, sunroof, leather seats, rear spoiler...and all the other things a celica has. This is for sale by a dealer.
It seems like a good car, besides that the gas is weird. I don't know if that's normal for a Celica..such as when you push the gas, it is slow, and then takes off pretty fast. Kind of hard to push..I heard that's normal b.c of the engine.
Another thing, is that the paint is pretty bad. The back bumber on the side has a mark, like another car drove against it, and 2x2 inch area has gloss comming off.
The front bumber on the bottom is very scratched on the sides and the paint is coming on. Looks like it might have been lowered before.
The side door has white marks, where the paint is coming off as well.

SO, it's an awesome car, besides that bad paint.

They wanted $18,000 for it in the begining. It was a trade-in car.
Then they went down to 16k. I offered $14,000 and they said that was fine. But after I saw the paint, I dont know.

What do you think???? is it worth it
I need an automatic, and I havent seen many that are silver or white, with lowe than 60,000 miles on it and not over $15,000.

i think the 14 grand isnt that bad for it, the orib with it not accelerating cis porb just cause that engine dosent have all that much torque and its an auto, but worst case is if there is a prob with the torque convertor, but most likely not, i say go for it

Really. Yeah, it seems ok..I mean, I don't think the dealer would be selling anything bad..and they said i have a 30day or 1,000miles, whichever one comes first, warranty on it.
The paint though is bad..I would have to repaint it.
You still think its ok?

triptonic is the paddle shifters on the steering wheel found in some automatics. the reason it accelerates like that is b/c at a certain rpm it goes into lift and gives alot more power. its not very fastv when not in lift.

it seems like a decent deal, all it seems to need is new paint

the power should kick in late, its the way its built

triptronic is semi-auto semi-manual, there is no clutch for you to deal with, but you can shift the gears yourself, when you look at the shifter it will have P R N D and then a slot that to the left of D where the shift moves into when in manual mode

also on the steering wheel there should be buttons that say up and down for shifting

oh ya, does it feel like the suspension is going bad, [if you can tell] does it bounce up and down more that like twice if you push down on it, you said that it may have been lowered before and that is a good thing to look at
