1997 Range Rover P38- TAILGATE not opening

A couple of days ago, the lower power tailgate on my P38 Range stopped opening. I hear the lock trying to disengage, and the top portion of the liftgate opens fine. If there any way I can manually release the lower part of the tailgate to fix the problem? Thanks in advance!

Hi - I have had the same problem in my 1996 4.0 - now the button is dead - the top will also not open. Previously I heard the actuator trying to engage and chattering. What did you learn ? Thanks you very much - Ron Bradley in Memphis [email protected]
