By the way, thank you for all your feedback, I got a 1999 SL but it's Automatic, will convert it to 5sp, later on. Drove from FL, I wasn't happy with the power it had, until this morning I saw a PWR button and pressed it, damn!!!!! Now I'm satisfied. Wish I saw it on my way from FL, drove 300miles on ECO GRRRRR, and there were no cops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got a couple of questions, the outside window trim looks like crap, any tips on where you can get a replacement? or has anyone ever tried painting them?
Second, any tips on how to get to the rear plugs? I worked on car before, but this has to be as bad as the Olds. Aurora, the manifold sit right on top of the plugs, has anyone changed them themselves?
I llike the way the 1999 looks, I'm happy with it, just got to replace some small damged interior trim like the door bezel, and the recliner leaver plastic is gone.
Overall, it's a great car, looks great, and I'll have some pics up soon. Thanks xXxRocker5150 for steering me in the right direction, I almost ended up with the base model cause they looked the same, but after driving the SL it was worth the added 3 grand.

I've got a problem, the stereo needs a code, one guy told me to take it to the dealer, and give them my VIN #, and they'll give me the code, I get there, and this guy tells me it will cost $60, cause he needs the vin from the Stereo not the car, is he bullshitting me??????

just pop the radio out and write down all the numbers on it. The surrounding trim just pops off and there are 4 philips screws to remove. Then the radio slides right out. If you have trouble getting the trim to pop off a small screwdriver works. I usually pull the shift boot off, then reach under and pop the little tray panel w/ the active aero switch out. Then I reach where that was and pop the radio trim out from behind with my fingers. I did that, then called the dealer and they gave me the code right over the phone. - Charlie

I had a T-Ram before, and even though it had great power and RWD, the 3KGT Looks ten times better, plus, the saving on insurance and gas nets me enough CA$H to get even more power. Ran into some other owner of VR4s' and TT Stealths' yesterday in down town ATL.
Anyway, thanks and I'll check out the sites, and post any upgrades.
Let me go get that radio popped off.

they're pretty decent in reliability but it all just depends on how the previous owners treated it... a big thing is the 60k maintenance, make sure it was done (if needed)... when you say n/a do you mean the SOHC or DOHC engine???? aka base or SL model??? generally they're both about the same, but if need be you can put 87 octane in the SOHC and it'll take it easier than the DOHC engine, although I really don't recommend it...
That post^^^^^^ I didn't know there was a DOHC and SOHC, I assumed there was a base and VR4, so after reading your post I researched and found out the diff in Power and performance, if not, I'd be having the base SOHC 161HP on 3100lbs and that's not good :nono: :nono: , everything had been worked out.
Anyway, :ylsuper:Thanks for the tip xxX, now you owe me $3000 for the extra I had to pay, plus mileage and time off work.

And thanks Falcon, I poped the small tray which allowed me to pop the trim surounding the radio, got it off, got my code, and my system now works!!!!!!!!!!!! But it looks like I'll have to upgrade my speakers, doesn't have a strong sound like the Lincoln, need some amount of beat.
Hey, Thanks for the info, just saved my self $60.00, went to an audio shop and they told me the'll have to take the shifter and all that other crap out, and that takes about an hour and $45.00 CROOKS!!!!!!!! :banghead: :cya: :banghead: , guess they just lost all my future business...............punks:angryfire .
