98 trooper shift on the fly problem

my trooper with auto trans. keeps popping out of 4 high. i only drive a few feet before this happens. someone said there could be a problem with a fork or spring in the front differental. i replaced the transfer case and vacuum switches. any ideas. many thanks, mike
