I want to try and make a carbon fiber sunroof insert for my crx does and one know of any good sites for some sort of guide. I can work with fiber glass somewhat I mean the basics door pods and sub inclosures but a friend told me it was a little different to work with??

Sounds like fun. Not to discourage you since there are companies that actually sell a CF insert for the CRX Si, but the actual removal of the sunroof is a PITA. Hopefully, yours is not loaded with rusted bolts, etc. BTW, I think the CF insert sold for the CRX Si is just a CF cover over the rest of the actual roof parts (ie. brackets, etc.).
From personal experience, I removed my roof and custom fitted a plexiglass roof insert. However, it cracked due to weather and flexing etc. So, I totally removed my roof parts and made a sheetmetal insert, rivetted to the roof itself and bondoed/shaved. It's still not perfect but I don't miss the crappy sunroof at all.
I hope you have better luck then I did with your sunroof. GL

I've seen one for sale but it was just a cover I want to remove all the brakets, motor, guides everything and just mold the sun roof run some screws and sealer to keep it in place and leak proof and call it a day. plus I would just like to learn how to do it and the sun roof being not in the best of shape seems like a good place to start.

So you want to do what I did basically except you want to seal it up. If you can seal CF to metal that's cool. I don't know how you'd go about that. But I just wanted to let you know that even though removing all of the roof parts frees up that weight it comes at the price of having no real headliner and some noise. If I had a digital camera I'd take a pic of what mine looks like...

well as the headliner goes he can get one for a dx or hf to replace the si liner. but it will be fun as hell to do the cf and sealing work. GL show pix!
