when the car is going to rpm's it doesn't shift right...... it's like it wants to go but....then if the car idles it's really low...what could it be...i was told it could be a sensor problem.... also my brakes are almost to the floor...could it be a master cylinder or the brakes it's self.???

You really need to add vital information on your car. Year, motor type, milles on it, and more detailed explanation of problems. Sounds like several and a lot of possibilties for all. The critical thing is the brakes. Check your master cylinder for fluid level first. If full you have badly worn brakes, or possibly bad master cylinder. Hard to tell for sure but this is a dangerous condition. Berettas and Corsicas go thru front brake pads pretty quickly and they do the most stopping. Rear brakes help but not near as much. You have need new front pads and an adjustment on the rear ones. If your fluid is low you may have a leaky wheel cylinder, caliper, brake line etc. Check for fluid leaks. Poor idle, too many items can cause this, maybe needs tuned, cleaned, etc. Can be a sensor but you would need checked for stored trouble codes on your car's computer first. As far as shifting goes, dirty fluid, low fluid, worn transmission, check fluid levels, color of fluid, does it smell burn't. A lot of miles on it? What exactly is it doing? The more information you can give means more folks here can help you diagnose the problem.

1990 Beretta Gt 3.1 V6, 161,000 km...... My bro thinks its the master cylinder. I just had the cv boots replaced, the hubs replaced, the back brake line replaced, and it seemed okay.... I was told that the idle was acting up,, so i don't know... it's been a great car. i got it 2 yrs ago with 102,000 km on it... the only things done was a new muffler, the the convertor replaced other then that 2 sets of tires....that's it.....
thanks for your help...
