I was wondering is there is a database where you put the VIN# in a box, and it tells you when it was built, type of engine, etc...
I know there is one for Jeep vehicles, but I can't find one for Celicas. I mean, if there's one for Jeeps, then I'm sure someone has done the same for a much more abundant car.

well, besides carfax, is there any other place? I recently busted the engine, and I wan to buy a new one, but I want to buy the right engine.
I don't want to pay carfax and then find out the engine is next to impossible to find.

well, it's an '89, but I don't know what style it is. I looked at the registration, and it says "cst" and I am assuming that means "celica st"

look under the hood and see if you can read on the engine which one it is, ot maybe like on my 95 st it will have a hose route on the firewall which usually sais which engine it is
