There are over 57 relays, fuses, modules, and sensors in your car, which a majority of any one of them could cause this problem. Start with a fuel pressure test at the fuel distributor. Also, check the OVP relay which is located behind the battery. It has a flip up top with one or two fuses in it. (tapping it gently while cranking might help to see if the relay is bad) Dont ever use jumper cables on a MB, you could do thousands of dollars worth of damage to your engine management computers. If the car isnt used much, and the battery is close to 4 years old, get a new battery asap.Write back with some more info....
Sitting for a few years? Your pick up screen in the fuel tank is probably all "greened up" and clogged by now. Get to someone who can remove the screen and clean it. (Its a round plug in the middle of the tank, with an allen socket end) Get a new "O-Ring for it, before you attempt this job.... You might even need to have the fuel tank flushed out.
